From what I understand, Vishnevski can't be bhgout out at this point of the offseason. If he clears waivers (which he will, there's no way anyone picks him up), the Devils will owe him his full remaining salary of 3.6M, but it won't go against the cap.

not sure what the deal is with Avery and Torts. I mean, the numbers don't lie: when Avery is pynliag his game, the Rangers win more. The thing is, Avery has a lot of skills. Sometimes his abilities are overshadowed by the agitator role and people don't always realize he's a really great skater with good hands who can see the ice. I think Torts wants to take advantage of all that stuff but seems like Sean was reined-in a little tight at times last year. I'm looking forward to seeing the old agitator. At the same time, I'd like for him to score more than 15 and get a little closer to 20 goals this year.
