"This is particularly true in areas where Sweden has world-class expertise, such as the treatment of emissions, waste management, increasing energy efficiency, among others," says Minister Björling.
NIB prioritises projects with environmental benefits, in line with its mission emphasising the Bank\'s role in enhancing competitiveness and the environment.
"We welcome this initiative. We want to contribute actively to environmental projects, especially in the Baltic Sea region," says NIB\'s President and CEO, Johnny Åkerholm.
Minister Björling visited NIB on Friday, 18 January. She discussed with Johnny Åkerholm deepening Sweden\'s cooperation with NIB in the framework of Baltic Sea environmental projects and the use of technical assistance trust funds.
NIB is a multilateral financial institution headquartered in Helsinki that finances private and public projects in and outside its member countries. NIB is owned by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.
